SZ advent calendar: money for a new washing machine

Irene P. (name changed by the editors) would like to look after her children, but she doesn’t have the strength. The mother of two from Herrsching is mentally ill and suffers from severe depression. Because the 35-year-old found it difficult to create the necessary environment for her daughters, the children now live with their fathers. The separation from the children puts additional strain on the mother. Although she sees her daughters regularly, she misses the closeness. At meetings she tries to fill the gap with small gifts. Then it feels better for her.

Actually, Irene P. can neither financially afford the trip to see the children nor the gifts. She receives a disability pension and basic security. After deducting the rent and fixed costs, she only has 360 euros per month to live on. She can cope with this, but she cannot build up reserves. Now the washing machine has broken and Christmas is just around the corner. The sick mother would like to give her two girls at least one little thing.
