According to information from MEGA, the President of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, is going to relieve the MP of Chania from his institutional position as coordinator of the party.
It is worth mentioning that the President of SYRIZA had made it known that “there will be consequences” for those who do not vote for the bill, but without specifying what they would be.
It is recalled that Pavlos Polakis abstained from the vote for same-sex couples, despite the message to the SYRIZA MPs for the approval of the bill by the president of the party.
The interest now turns to Othona Iliopoulos and Nina Kasimati, who also did not vote for the bill.
However, the Harvard professor informed in a statement issued on Friday that “my absence from yesterday’s roll call vote is due to a personal obstacle that unfortunately arose at the last minute.”
That is why he welcomed “the decision of the Hellenic Parliament” recognizing it “as a step forward in an open and equal state”.
