With its decision, which was shared at the closed meeting of the Central Committee, the Ethics Committee of SYRIZA calls on the members of the party to show prudence, calmness and self-restraint, in view of the pre-election period.
“The Ethics Committee will not watch as a spectator the executives who appear on television or other media and/or write on social media opposing instead of supporting our party. It is noted that the Ethics Committee has the will and can, in accordance with the statute, impose sanctions on anyone who operates in an unethical, unethical and anti-partisan manner,” the relevant document states.
It is also emphasized that in the intra-party pre-election campaign “insults, blows below the waist, vulgar insults and slanders that are not consistent with the ethos of the left, will not be accepted”.
Also, the members of the Ethics Committee emphasize that so far they have not been asked about the implementation of the statute, and emphasize that in the future “they can contribute to the work of the Central Committee, formulating its opinion.”
