SYRIZA: Over 60,000 voted in the primaries – Counting will finally take place tomorrow – 2024-04-14 20:53:51

According to Koumoundourou sources, shortly after 21:30 the process of electing the candidates to be included in the SYRIZA European Ballot was successfully completed.

From 8:00 in the morning when the polls opened, there was a massive turnout. A total of more than 60,000 members and friends of the party took part in the process, in order to elect the participants in the European ballot.

The process will finally end on Monday with the counting of votes.

Only those who advance will be announced and not the crosses that each one got, so that those who will collect the most votes from the internal party process, will not have a lead in view of the elections on June 9.

Today’s elections will result in 35 persons from the 42 places on the European ballot. The current MEPs, Kostas Arvanitis and Elena Kountouras, will definitely be candidates.

Five candidates will be chosen by Stefanos Kasselakis himself, so that the quota of men and women can be corrected if necessary (the party statute provides for 21 female and 21 male candidates) and possibly some social groups will be represented.
