Today, the members and friends of SYRIZA are in an electoral rhythm in order to elect 35 of the 42 candidates for the European elections in June.
By 19:00 over 50,000 people had voted with the process going smoothly. The polls opened at 8 am. The results are expected to be announced tomorrow, Monday. Only those who advance will be announced and not the crosses that each one got, so that those who will collect the most votes from the internal party process, will not have a lead in view of the elections on June 9.
Stefanos Kasselakis will vote electronically as he is in the USA, where he will also attend the parade of expatriates on 5th Avenue on March 25.
Today, the 35 people from the 42 places on the European ballot will be elected. The current MEPs, Kostas Arvanitis and Elena Kountouras, will definitely be candidates.
Five candidates will be chosen by Stefanos Kasselakis himself, so that the quota of men and women can be corrected if necessary (the party statute provides for 21 female and 21 male candidates) and possibly some social groups will be represented.
The European ballot will be presented on Friday at a central point in Athens.
