Radical changes in SYRIZA seem to be prepared by the party’s President Stefanos Kasselakis. This results from a questionnaire he sent out of the blue to party members.
Mr. Kasselakis invites the members to answer if they wish to change the name as well as the logo, while a question is also raised regarding the identification of the party, i.e. whether it should define itself as center-left or left.
In fact, questions are asked regarding the party organs: “Is it believed that the current structure of SYRIZA is effective?”, “are you satisfied with the response of the party organs?”.
In a related post, the President of SYRIZA said that “if you find some time over the weekend, please go to iSyriza and fill out the questionnaire that you will find here. I ask for your opinion. Because the new cycle of SYRIZA will belong to you. A lot will change in the new SYRIZA that starts with our conference next week.”
Good morning friends,
If you have some time over the weekend, please go to iSyriza and fill out the questionnaire you will find here: https://t.co/bLIHYnK5Bn
I ask for your opinion. Because the new cycle of SYRIZA will belong to you.
A lot will change…

It seems that Mr. Kasselakis is expected to ask the questions included in the questionnaire in question at the upcoming SYRIZA Congress that starts on Thursday, February 22.
However, these questions highlight to a large extent the willingness of the President of SYRIZA to fundamentally change his party. The results of the last election contests combined with the opinion polls ahead of the European elections that show SYRIZA weakened, push Mr. Kasselakis to make quick decisions and proceed with surprise actions in order to win the battle for second place.
However, the changes that are emerging are set to confirm many of his critics who have accused him of essentially creating a new party.
