Gletsos, Polakis, Famellos and Faradouris spoke for the second time at the extraordinary conference of SYRIZA, attacking Stefanos Kasselakis who a short time before, at noon on Saturday, had announced the establishment of a new party. The president of KO, Nikos Pappas, also took to the stage.

Gletsos: Kasselakis is on the last step of humiliation
Apostolos Gletsos initially stated in his defense of the former president of SYRIZA: “Mr. Kasselakis has reached the last step of his humiliation. The stigma will remain with us because we made him leader. But we will try to throw it over us.”

Polakis: The one who proposes independence to them may soon be out of Greece
Immediately after, Pavlos Polakis took the stage. The Chanioti MP emphasized: “Things are clear. The attempt to transform SYRIZA failed. Yesterday, we all experienced the show of depositing signatures that received the caustic response of the president Yannis Mantzouranis that the majorities are judged by the votes. As soon as they saw that they were not getting it, they left and founded a new party. Mr. Kasselakis saw that he cannot control our party. The plan for a 5% SYRIZA failed miserably.”
That is why he called on “those who declared that they will leave to think again. And those who are thinking about it should not do it, because the person who suggests it to them may soon be out of Greece”.

“It doesn’t concern us, we were too busy” Mr. Farandouris pointed out about Stefanos Kasselakis, explaining that “we don’t need to get involved because the tank allows us to raise our stature and later our government program”.
“We do not renounce our values, but the program needs modernization” he then argued about his program, since “we all have in mind a new SYRIZA, free from distortions of the past but also with the sacrifice of decades in this place. This differentiates us and this makes us the vanguard of the progressive forces of the country”.
Nikos Pappas: Whoever has the majority does not do theatrics
The president of the SYRIZA parliamentary group, Nikos Pappas, emphasized: “These are moments that will remain etched in our memory for a long time. These few 24 hours proved the following: that there was a plan to break up the proceedings that went as far as yesterday’s methodical attempt to keep people out of the SYRIZA conference. Whoever has the majority does not make plays. And the result of the vote came yesterday to give a resounding message, but also to the Panhellenic people who are falsely and unilaterally informed about our party.
The most important of the victories we achieved was the victory against the furious attempt of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to consolidate a historical revisionism. Let the people forget who was the government that brought the world out of the memoranda. In the parties of the Left, in our party, there will be no uncontrollable powers.
I am absolutely sure that the work of the parliamentary group will continue. Those who take responsibility for depriving SYRIZA of the position of official opposition will forever bear a historical mark. To think again and not bet on ventures that are fatal.
