The decision of the Central Committee of SYRIZA was published, incorporating the Spirtzis proposal, which was upvoted on Saturday.
“Transparency, truth, honesty towards every citizen is a valuable principle of our party. Today, after the traumatic picture of reports and insinuations of black funds, and leaks of targeting comrades, there is an urgent need to prove in deeds and not in words that neither our party nor our cadres have anything to hide. In this context, the candidate presidents of the party will submit with their candidacy, the “No Matters” that they have submitted to the competent authorities, so that they will be published on the website of SYRIZA – PS, before their announcement by the Congress”, it is characteristically stated.
The schedule:
· The Extraordinary Congress will be held from November 1st to 3rd.
The object of the conference is the approval of the nominations and the text of the political decision.
· The election of congressmen will be held on October 19 and 20, with the measure that applied at the February congress, that is, 1/40 of the registered members. The members of the K.E., the deputies and MEPs who are not members of the K.E., the members of the K.S. of Youth, the members of the election committee and the ethics committee participate ex officio as representatives.
· The election of the president and Central Committee will be held on Sunday, November 24 and, if a second round is needed for the presidential election, it will take place on Sunday, December 1.
· The submission of candidacy for the presidency of the party is carried out in accordance with the principles and values of SYRIZA-PS, the provisions of the statute and the decisions of its collective bodies.
· In order to submit a candidacy, signatures from 30 members of the Central Committee are required, which will be submitted to the Political Secretariat by October 24.
· K.E. will meet again on October 5, with the subject of the pre-conference texts.
· The process of the pre-conference dialogue in the organizations will start on October 6.
· The deadline within which someone must have become a member in order to have the right to vote in the pre-conference proceedings and the right to elect and be elected in the elections for the nomination of representatives and the election of the Executive Committee is 11/10/2024.
· K.E. will meet again on October 5, with the subject of the pre-conference texts.
· The process of the pre-conference dialogue in the organizations will start on October 6.

The EC’s decision in detail:
SYRIZA-PS will fully respond to the mandate given to it by the Greek people, the left-wing, progressive, democratic citizens. To exercise the duties of the official opposition of the country, to stand up against the anti-popular and anti-social plans of the ND government, to fight for the interests of the great majority of citizens and to propose an alternative and reliable progressive government program.
In this context, SYRIZA-PS will continue to present with credibility and persuasiveness specific answers and proposals for all major issues that concern Greek society. This is what he did, recently, at the TIF, where he submitted to the public debate his proposals for dealing with two of the most critical issues of everyday life, those of private debt and housing, and an invitation was made to the progressive forces to cooperate in this context.
SYRIZA-PS will move forward, with unity, responsibility, coordinated and democratic processes, and collective decisions. With faithful and unwavering observance of all the prescribed procedures, and with reverent observance of the provisions of the party’s Statute.
Above all, with a spirit of camaraderie, and with an eye on society, its needs and hopes.
In this context, behaviors that insult the personality of executives and members of the party and in fact for collective decisions of the bodies, such as references to “hood wearers”, “coup makers”, “diversions”, as well as any other form of targeting, are reprehensible and have no relationship with the Left.
SYRIZA-PS has a historic duty to regroup, strengthen and fight even more vigorously, in order to implement the progressive counterattack and the political and social change, in a progressive direction, that society and the place need.
After the democratically adopted and based on the party’s Statute decisions of the previous General Assembly, SYRIZA-PS proceeds to an Extraordinary Congress, election of president and Central Committee, according to the following schedule:

K.E. decided to strengthen the economic committee of the party and its new composition is as follows: Alexiadis Tryfonas, Kasimati Nina, , Melachrinos Panagiotis, Poulos Giotas, Soapunas Anastasia, Skoufas Vangelis, Tsirigotis Zacharoula, Chalazonitis Dimitris, Christidou Ralia.
