SYRIZA: Chrysochoidis in the crosshairs – “Hiding his responsibilities” – 2024-04-06 06:40:42

On Thursday morning, Michalis Chrysochoidis referred to the femicide of 28-year-old Kyriaki Griva outside the AT of Agios Anargyros. Among other things, the Minister of Citizen Protection declared himself devastated, describing the tragic event as “one of the most unpleasant and difficult moments I have experienced in my long journey” and SYRIZA took the opportunity to launch new fire at him and in general the staff state of Nea of Democracy, which he described as ruthless, cynical and ineffective.

In opposition to the statement of Mr. Chrysochoidis, SYRIZA declared “shocked by the ease with which the longest-serving Minister of Citizen Protection hides his responsibilities, having brought the Greek Police to the brink of dissolution and leaving citizens at the mercy of crime.”

He also declared “shocked by the incompetence of the government of the New Democracy, which promised the security of the citizens and with its destructive policy has now left nothing standing”.

Finally, he declared “shocked by the callousness, cynicism, inefficiency and absolute disrespect shown by the New Democracy and its “staff” state”.​

“It’s a wonder he’s in his place”

This was the second announcement from Koumoundourou with Mr. Chrysochoidis at the center of the big target concerning the New Democracy government. As noted by SYRIZA, “it is questionable that Mr. Chrysochoidis, even after this revelation, is in his position”. As well as “it is questionable that the government again rejected the amendment of the SYRIZA PS for the legalization of the term femicide”.

According to the official opposition party, this entire attitude of the police officers “proves irrefutably that the government of the New Democracy has not realized that the real problem in the Greek Police is not “numerical”, but concerns the training, education and protocols that are followed”.
