With their letter to the president of the Parliament, the three deputies Christidou rally, Malama Sunday and Alekos Avlonitis announced their independence from SYRIZA.
On Saturday at noon, MP Kilkis, Petros Pappas submitted his own letter of independence to Konstantinos Tassoulas.
Speaking to Vima, Mr. Pappas stated that “the completion of the anti-democratic diversion of the political formation into which SYRIZA has mutated does not leave us any leeway. All of us democrats and progressive people have no place in a party that has been put outside the democratic arc with its Stalinist-fascist practices.” It ends officially by saying that “as an independent MP I will stand by the many problems of the citizens in the hope of a progressive counter-proposal to the dead-end policies of the New Democracy”.
Now, it is expected to be announced in the Plenary of the Parliament, while the independent MPs are a total of 18.
