Today, Monday, a news report stated that the fate of the Syrian international striker, Omar Al-Soma, with the first football team of the Saudi Al-Ahly Club, will be decided during this July.
Today, Monday, the Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiah, quoted private sources as saying: “The Al-Jeddawi club management aims for the striker to leave the team during the current summer transfer period, and is awaiting the offers that will be presented to him in order to approve the best of them.”
The administration has not yet received any official offer to purchase the Somah contract.
According to the same sources, Al-Ahly management has not yet met the player at a time when Al-Soma continues his group training before joining the team’s preparatory camp for the new season.
This comes with one year remaining in the striker’s contract with Al-Ahly, and his dues amount to about 13 million Saudi riyals (three million and 253 thousand dollars).
Several clubs expressed interest in Al-Somah, led by Al-Arabi Al-Qatari, who included the player last season on a loan contract, and achieved with him the Qatar Cup championship and the league runner-up.
Al-Riyadiah newspaper contacted Abdullah Al-Jassem, the player’s agent, but he refused to talk about the matter at the present time, saying only: “I have nothing to say on this matter.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly renewed the contract of its historic top scorer in 2020 for a period of four seasons, ending in June 2024.
