The 31-year-old man suspected of attempted murder by stabbing six people in Annecy, France, has been transferred from a prison to a psychiatric hospital.
The suspect, a Syrian refugee who was granted permanent residence in Sweden ten years ago, was in prison in a special security cell so that he would not commit suicide. He still refuses to give an explanation for his actions.
According to justice, the man was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he attacked his victims. There are no indications of a terrorist motive. Witnesses to the knife attack heard the man say the name of Jesus Christ. The victims are now all out of danger.
France was shocked on Thursday when the man seriously injured six people during a stabbing. Four of them were young children, including a one-year-old Dutch child. They are all out of danger now.
