RIYADH, April 12 (Xinhua) — Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, the first visit by a Syrian official to the country since 2011.
He was received by Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed al-Khuraiji at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Syrian Foreign Minister is making this visit at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.
The two sides will discuss the Syrian crisis, including efforts to achieve a political solution and promote stability, security and unity in Syria. They will also address issues such as the return of Syrian refugees and the delivery of humanitarian aid, according to the press. END
