After she sparked widespread controversy during the past few days, due to her concert at “Ain Al-Sira Lake, next to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo,” the Syrian artist, Asala Nasri, broke her silence.
The owner of “Ma Baqash Ana” commented on the campaign she was subjected to before the concert, that most of what she hopes is for people to calm down.
And she added in a statement during her meeting with the program et in Arabic: All my wishes are for people to like and have mercy on each other.
Asala sent a message to her fans: “Like you, I said today that I don’t know how to talk, and many years of my life are more than half of them spent with you and between you. What is the unstable situation? My children speak Egyptian, but my mother and I speak Syrian. I was born here, and I and my relatives are Egyptians, and I am proud of art and that I am one of its people.
It is noteworthy that the artist was subjected to widespread attack during the past few days, as some demanded the cancellation of her concert in Cairo, after they considered her statements a denial of Egypt’s favor to her in her artistic career.
The hashtag of canceling Asala’s concert in Egypt also spread on Twitter.
On the other hand, the hashtag # Asala_in_Egypt spread, welcoming and solidarity with the Syrian artist.
While the artist tweeted, commenting: “I increased fame and glory in Egypt, and I only added a new love for the great Egypt.”
