SYRIA / ROJAVA – The Arab-Kurdish administration of Raqqa has opened a children’s hospital in Raqqa.

The Raqqa Civil Council Health Committee has opened a special pediatric hospital in Raqqa with the participation of the Health Council, the Raqqa Civil Council, committees and civil institutions.

Raqqa Weteni Hospital co-chair Eli Al Mushrif said the city of Raqqa has witnessed wars, destruction and disasters, affecting residents’ health and causing pain and suffering.

Al-Mushrif added that the health sector has improved in Raqqa since 2019 and that the Executive Assembly and the Civil Assembly of Raqqa, in collaboration with international organizations, have established the Weteni hospital, health centers, an infection center and health facilities in the center and rural areas of Raqqa.

Al-Mushrif stressed that a special children’s hospital is needed due to the increasing population in Raqqa and its rural areas. This hospital will be the largest in northern and eastern Syria. “Today we celebrate the opening of this hospital, which has many departments such as emergency room, surgery ward, radiology ward, polyclinic wards. These rooms will serve the health of our children. Because children are our future and our hope. “

Melek Şahin, mother of the martyr Kaw and president of the civil council of Raqqa, officially opened the hospital.
