Four people were killed by the Israeli strike on a building in the suburbs of Damascus, where “members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah frequent,” announced the non-governmental organization Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the official Syrian news agency SANA, the target of the Israeli attack was an apartment building in the Mazeh district. In this area there are many embassies and the UN offices in Syria.
Syrian television reported “injured people”, including women and children.
This district is densely populated and an AFP correspondent counted 20 damaged cars. Photos show thick smoke rising around a high-rise building, the lights of which are on.
According to the Observatory, in addition to the building, a vehicle parked outside was also targeted.
Last Wednesday, another strike in the same district killed many people, including the son-in-law of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah who was killed in Beirut on September 27.
