Syrian artists launched a strong campaign against the Lebanese media, Nidal Al-Ahmadiyeh, in the wake of her talk about a situation with a Syrian seller who mocked him for not knowing “chocolate mo”.

And “chocolate mo” is a Syrian ice cream. It is an ice cream made of chocolate and milk and covered with pieces of chocolate. It is often sold in restaurants and cafes in Damascus.

Al-Ahmadiyya deplored, during an interview with the “Beirut Platform”, that a Syrian refugee working as a salesman in Lebanon did not know the “chocolate mo” that she asked him for, which opened a dispute between them, before the refugee responded to her by saying that “Lebanon is a province of Syria,” according to her televised statements.

Soon, the Ahmadiyya TV talk sparked ridicule and anger on social media, before it turned into something like a campaign in which Syrian artists participated, to respond to it.

It was noteworthy that the international musician Malik Jandali participated, who commented on his Twitter account sarcastically: “I love baklava, the sweetness of cheese, and I adore the piano … but I still haven’t had the honor to know #chocolate mo … oh mo!”.

The artist, Adnan Abu Al-Shamat, criticized the media’s speech, as he sent her a message via video: “The struggle of civilization is not compared to chocolate. Today, as a joke, I was talking to my daughter living in Italy who speaks six languages. Imagine six languages that don’t know chocolate.

And the Palestinian artist, Shukran Murtaja, demanded to stop defaming the Syrians, stressing that the failure to respond to defamation is due to “morals and education,” pointing at the same time to the need to stop spreading poisons on social media.

In turn, Mutasim Al-Nahar attacked Nidal Al-Ahmadiyya, describing it as a “moron”, accusing the channels that host it of collusion with it, before later retracting and deleting his tweet, contenting himself with sharing a tweet by the Lebanese journalist Charbel Mereb, who considered that bad opinions represent only their owners and are not generalized to everyone.

Talal Mardini also criticized satellite channels for hosting Ahmadiyya media, commenting: “The right does not have the right to the stations that host a demented unit.”
