MPSPORTIMAGES — At the close of the Sunday day on date 17 in League II-2021, América de Cali received the visit of Alianza Petrolera in a commitment that ended with a tie, thanks to the celebrations of Héctor Quiñones in the premises and Edwin Torres on the visit.

The judge gave the initial whistle at Pascual Guerrero and only until minute 27 did the locals generate danger. In the first clear play, the ‘scarlets’ went up on the scoreboard after a cross shot by Quiñones that beat José Luis Chunga to make it 1-0.

Later, at 33 ′, America came back with a powerful mid-distance shot from Cristian Arrieta that Chunga saved without problems.

For the second half, the actions increased in the face of the arches and Alianza achieved the tie. At 57 ‘, Torres received a filtered pass to the area, eluded Diego Novoa with a touch and put the 1-1 with the goal at his disposal.

Four minutes later, Juan Portillo tried his luck with a mid-distance shot that Novoa saved without problems; and, at 61 ′, Kevin Andrade approached with a shot that went slightly off the goal.

On 65 ′, Adrián Ramos had his first play against the goal when he executed a free kick that ended on Chunga’s goal; and a minute later, Portilla tried again with a shot that ended up deflected by a local defender.

Time passed and America desperately searched for the goal that would give him the advantage on the scoreboard, but had no aim to decree it. At 80 ′, Ramos approached again with a shot in the area that ended outside and at 88 ′, he tried a volley that Chunga controlled without problems.

With this result, América de Cali adds 23 points and remains in the eleventh box of the table, while Alianza Petrolera accumulates 26 units and is fifth. On the following day, the ‘scarlatas’ will visit La Equidad and the ‘oilmen’ will be local against Atlético Huila.
