Synology’s new generation DiskStation DS923+ 4 Bay NAS, as the successor of DS920+, DS923+ has been upgraded in many key performance aspects. DiskStation DS923+ shows its performance improvement in terms of hardware configuration. DS920+ is equipped with DDR4-2666 4GB Non-ECC memory soldered on the motherboard, and only provides one memory expansion slot, supporting up to 8GB (4GB + 4GB) memory expansion. In contrast, DS923+ provides two SODIMM expansion slots and supports a maximum memory capacity of 32GB (16GB + 16GB). This makes DS923+ improve its data transfer speed and multi-tasking capabilities. DiskStation DS923+ uses a four-storage slot design that can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SSD/HDD hard drives. DiskStation DS923+ supports Hot-Plug and Hot-Swap functions, and can theoretically support a total storage capacity of 54TB. The device is also equipped with an ESATA interface.
