This condition is usually caused by an altered level of fluid in the eye, as a direct result of high blood sugar. Meanwhile, the early symptoms of diabetes are not the same for everyone.

However, vision changes can also be a warning sign of diabetes. High blood sugar can affect any part of the body, including the eyes. This can change the fluid level in the eye, resulting in swelling, blurred vision, or difficulty focusing on objects.
