Symptoms of DHF can be similar to COVID-19, what’s the difference?

One of the symptoms that distinguishes DHF from other diseases is a sudden high fever.

“Actually the most important thing is the fever, the fever is high and sudden. This is one of the features of a viral disease. If you don’t have a bacterial disease, now you have a fever, tomorrow you feel unwell, you have a headache, the next day you have a fever but you are getting better,” Sri said in an exclusive interview with Takeda in Cikini, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (13/12/2022).

“If it’s a virus we still play early in the morning, we’re still in school, in the evening it rises quickly (high fever). You have to be careful. In children, you can see that their faces are like boiled shrimp, red, so it’s confirmed that this it’s due to a virus,” he added.

The symptoms of DHF tend to be similar to a sore throat, like the symptoms you feel when you’re about to get a cold. However, there are usually no cold symptoms in DHF.

“If you have a cold, the virus is already another virus, but coughing is still possible, vomiting is still possible, diarrhea is still possible, but usually you don’t have a cold. So if you have a high fever but have the cold Alhamdulillah.”
