People who experience symptoms of COVID-19 after receiving their dose of the vaccine should not worry about having contracted the virus, but should rather rejoice.

As the vaccination is a “symptomatic treatment”, it is normal for the body to react, said the head of intensive care at Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital.
“You should be happy that this is happening because what it says is that your immune system has figured it out and is building an adequate response. It’s a sign of good news, ”said Dr Marquis.
Symptoms like headache and fatigue can appear especially in people who have already contracted the coronavirus.
“In particular those who have already had COVID, who have antibodies, when we give them any vaccine, they tend to react a little more”, noted the doctor.
You should also not be concerned if the inoculated people do not develop symptoms after receiving their dose. It doesn’t mean the vaccine doesn’t work.
“If you are completely asymptomatic, as I was, when you received your vaccine, that does not mean that you are not protected either,” said Dr François Marquis.
“But a physical response can be encouraging,” he added.
And in case of symptoms, the treatment is very simple.
“A little acetaminophen, we rest, we take it relaxed and in 24, 48 hours, we will be a champion,” advised the doctor.
