Writer Sylvia Van Driessche (45) has appeared in ‘Nina’ magazine as one of the anonymous witnesses in the Bart De Pauw case. Her testimony came after the file had already been completed and concerns a text message that De Pauw is said to have sent. “My testimony could also show that his behavior, long ago, was already the same.”

Van Driessche’s story is about one text message of which she herself no longer knows the content. She would have visited her then boyfriend – now her husband – Jelle De Beule after a recording day and when the three of them ended up at a cafe, Bart De Pauw had come to connect, the director and actor would have sent her a very explicit text message. Van Driessche would have put De Pauw in his place.

During the trial, Van Driessche was dismissed as a fantasist, De Pauw’s lawyers called it “mood making”.
