The former first lady was placed in detention this Thursday, October 12, 2023, after a confrontation with Brice Laccruche, former chief of staff of the deposed president, at the Libreville courthouse.

Indeed, Sylvia Bongo Ondimba appeared before an investigating judge where a confrontation took place between her and Brice Laccruche Alihanga, former chief of staff of the deposed president, Ali Bongo Ondimba. It was after this confrontation that she was placed under arrest and sent to Libreville prison.
Remember that she was indicted on September 29, 2023, by the public prosecutor for embezzlement of public funds, receiving stolen property, forgery and use of forgery. And has been under house arrest since the coup of August 30, 2023.
