CONAKRY- It was in the pipeline, it’s now official. Fousseni Diawara is officially co-opted by Kaba Diawara as assistant coach of Guinea. The former Malian international therefore officially takes the place of Charly Paquille sacked by Kaba Diawara without any reason yet revealed. It is the Guinean Football Federation which has just announced the arrival of the Canal+ consultant on the Syli National bench.
« The technical staff of the Guinea national team is experiencing a change. Charly Paquille is replaced by Fousseni Diawara. Arriving at Syli National in March 2022, Charly Paquille leaves his position as assistant coach. He is replaced by Fousseni Diawara, a former footballer who became a coach. The Guinean Football Federation thanks Charly Paquille for the services rendered to the Guinean national team and wishes him every success in the rest of his career. The FGF congratulates Fousseni Diawara and welcomes him to the technical staff of Syli National “ indicates Feguifoot.
Guinea will therefore go to CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast with two Diawaras, namely Kaba as starter and Fousseni who will officiate as deputy. With this duo, it remains to be seen whether Syli will first come out of the group where he is with Senegal, Cameroon and Gambia. Guinea’s baptism of fire will take place on January 15, 2024 against Cameroon in Yamousssokoro.
