Sydney Sweeney is one of the actresses of the moment. Except for ‘Madame Web’ she is achieving great success at the box office and critics in 2024, as we have seen first with ‘Anyone but You’ and recently with ‘Inmaculate’. It is normal, therefore, for studios and directors to raffle off the actress for her next projects. There will be no shortage of offers, nor rumors either.
The last of them that has sounded very strongly in recent hours has been promulgated by Jeff Sneider, one of the best-known insiders of the Hollywood film scene. Sneider has assured in his blog that Sydney Sweeney will star alongside Johnny Depp in ‘Day Drinker’, the new supernatural thriller from director Marc Webb (‘500 Days Together’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’).
This peculiar combination, which would mean Johnny Depp’s return to the front page after his trial with Amber Heard, has been the most talked about in the industry since Sneider’s publication. It has caused such a stir that, instead of letting it be, the actress wanted to deny it before it spread even further, denying any connection with the project and with Johnny Depp. She first did it through her representatives in a statement to Discussing Filmand hours later it was Sweeney herself who spoke on her Twitter/X account with a message full of irony.
