The members of the special delegation unanimously adopted a motto for the Municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso, on September 24, 2024. It is now “Sya, An ka So, Hèrèso”, in the Dioula language or “Sya, kia kuru , siyara na kuru” in Bobo language.

The representatives of the Municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso met on September 23 and 24, 2024 to hold the third regular session of the year 2024. Therefore, on September 24, 2024 in the town hall of the Town Hall, the president of the special town delegation Laurent Kontogom submitted the proposal “Sya, An ka So, Hèrèso” to his representatives for consideration related. At the end of the vote, the motto was unanimously adopted by the members of the special delegation from Bobo Municipality. Remember that within the framework of the centenary of the Municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso, in 2026 to come, the special delegation decided that the city should have a logo to strengthen the logo. It is with this in mind that an ad hoc commission, led by Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara, was set up to propose the idea of ​​a motto. And the commission brought together people such as Mr. Anselme Titianma Sanon, former mayors of the Bobo Association, representatives of the traditional chiefs of Bobo, Dioula, Peulh, representatives of the Christian community, the Muslim community and many other resource persons. She worked at the town hall between August 29 and 30, 2024. Before the acceptance, the president of the ad hoc commission Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara presented the content of the work. For him, “after reflection, the Commission retained “Sya, An ka So, Hèrèso”. Sya (city living together and peace), An ka So (our home for all) and Hèrèso (house of peace). Before adding “logos must reflect the values ​​of living together, tolerance and citizenship for the well-being of our people”. He said that the motto should follow the history, sociology and vision of the city.
