We actively participate in data and statistics work at national and international levels, with the aim of improving the availability and comparability of data and statistics, exploiting synergies and asserting our leading role in these areas.
This is the vision of the OFS regarding relations on the international and national levels, in accordance with objective no. 7 of the OFS operational strategy and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Primary objectives of international and domestic affairs
The OFS is seen as a player and leader in the field of data and statistics.
The FSO is internationally recognized as Switzerland’s official representative for the three fields of statistics, data management and data science.
Switzerland’s know-how in these three areas of activity is put to good use in international organizations. Switzerland benefits from the international exchange of knowledge, which should be disseminated as much as possible down to the local level.
The transmission of knowledge to interested partner countries and international organizations focuses on partners associated with Federal Council strategies and takes place within the framework of available resources.
Coordination and communication between all statistics and data producers in Switzerland are improved.
