Switzerland’s nomination for the Swedish Games includes four newcomers

The team includes two world vice-champions from 2018. Defenders Michael Fora from Davos and Mirco Müller from Lugano participated in winning silver in Denmark. Fischer gave opportunities to mostly young talents, and the oldest player is the thirty-year-old striker Sven Senteler from Zug.

“Already at the beginning of the season, we planned to take a younger squad in February. We want these players to gain experience at the highest international level. But it does not change how we will approach the matches. Just like in November and December, we want to play an equal country to the opponent and achieve the best possible results,” Fischer told the website of the Swiss Hockey Federation.

The Swiss enter the Swedish Games on Thursday 9 February from 20:15 against Finland. After moving to Malmö, they will face the Swedish team on Saturday (16:00) and on Sunday at noon they will face the Czech national team. They are in the last fourth place in the Euro Hockey Tour table after two tournaments with six points.
