Switzerland slept through the digitization of the healthcare system

Unlike Denmark, Switzerland does not yet have any functioning patient files. Corona reports are sent by fax, and the Federal Council must take drastic measures while flying blind. The public’s fear of data theft is also to blame for the grievance.

In many medical practices, medical histories are still stored exclusively on paper.

Imagine if you could conveniently register for a corona test via a nationally standardized portal if you had a sore throat. A few hours after the swab, your health app sends a push message with the result – and the national authorities receive the data on the virus spread in real time. If you have to go to hospital because of a severe course of Covid-19, the attending physicians can immediately see in the virtual patient dossier which risk factors you have and which medication you are taking. You will receive the invitation to the flu vaccination electronically as soon as it is your turn according to the priority list. And imagine if you could prove the vaccination at any time with the vaccination certificate, which is integrated in the health app.
