Switzerland Identifies 130 Possible Violations of Sanctions Against Russia and Opens Criminal Cases

Swiss authorities have identified 130 possible violations of sanctions against Russia. In this regard, 29 criminal cases were initiated, said the head of the Swiss State Secretariat for the Economy, Helene Budliger-Artieda.

“Currently, there are 130 alleged cases of sanctions circumvention. In 29 cases, they led to the initiation of administrative offense cases and administrative-criminal cases, 14 of which were completed,” the official said in an interview. Tages-Anzeiger.

According to her, in 36 cases the grounds for initiating criminal cases on the facts of circumvention of sanctions were not found. In other cases, the investigation is still ongoing.

In the 11th package of sanctions, the EU authorities should focus on closing the possibilities for circumventing the sanctions adopted against Russia. As noted by Bloomberg, among other things, the EU is discussing measures against countries that help Russia bypass restrictions. As reported in the Polish Foreign Ministry, new restrictions should be introduced no earlier than the second half of May.

Details can be found in the Kommersant FM article “Transit is included in the 11th package”.
