It notes that “requests to fly over from parties to the conflict and other countries in order to provide military support to the parties to the conflict, in particular the supply of military materials, will not be accepted.”

Bern explained that the ban did not apply to flights of military aircraft of the parties to the conflict and other countries “for humanitarian or medical purposes, including the transportation of the wounded.”

Switzerland, which has the status of a neutral state and is not a member of the European Union, said on March 4th that it supported EU sanctions against Russia and closed its airspace to Russian planes.
