The selection of captain Severin Lüthi will face Australia, Great Britain and France from September 12 to 17 in Manchester.
This group B is perhaps the strongest of the four. The Swiss team, which appeared in the fourth hat in the draw made on Wednesday in Malaga, for example, could perfectly have rubbed shoulders with Croatia, the Netherlands and Sweden.
But Marc-Andrea Hüsler, Stan Wawrinka and their teammates were not spoiled. They will do battle with three of the four most successful nations in history in this competition: Australia have triumphed 28 times, Great Britain and France 10. Only the United States (32) have done better.
Group A will feature defending champions Canada, Sweden, Chile and Italy in Bologna. Spain, Serbia, Czechia and South Korea will do battle in Valencia (group C), while Pool D will bring together Croatia, the Netherlands, the United States and Finland in a Croatian city that remains to confirm.
The matches in this group stage, in which Switzerland is participating for the first time since the reform of the competition, will be played over one day with two singles and a double each time. The top two from each group will qualify for the final round, scheduled for November 21-26 in Malaga.
