Swiss Technology: Engineers’ Day takes place on March 4th

On March 4th of each year, the world public draws attention to the sustainability goals of the United Nations and the services required from engineers.

On November 18, 2019, at the request of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the UNESCO General Assembly decided to declare March 4 as the annual “World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development”.

This year, the focus is on the seventh sustainability goal: access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy is also the focus of Engineers’ Day Switzerland on March 4, 2023.

What Swiss Engineering is doing to achieve the seventh sustainability goal

The professional association of engineers is strongly committed to the seventh sustainability goal. For example, Swiss Engineering is committed to the areas of mobility and climate. In particular for the expansion of new renewable energies and innovative solutions for their storage.

But also in sub-areas of the circular economy. The Technology Days, which take place in September, focus on the scarcity of resources as a driver of innovation. The aim is to show which innovations have emerged or which solutions are available.
