Swiss Parliament Allows Re-Export of Weapons Produced in Switzerland

The two chambers of the Swiss Parliament and the National Council voted in favor of an amendment to the Military Equipment Act. Thus, Switzerland allowed the re-export of weapons of its own production to other countries.

It is worth noting that earlier Switzerland blocked the supply of weapons, since since 1815 it has adhered to a policy of neutrality. Therefore, Switzerland refused to transfer ammunition for Gepard anti-aircraft guns to Germany.

Recall that earlier in Switzerland they stated that they could not transfer weapons to Ukraine without changing the law on neutrality.

At the same time, the country provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including 20 mine-clearing vehicles.
