Swiss musical talents and international stars form the backdrop for the “Sports Awards” 2022

Atmosphere, entertainment and emotion: the “Sports Awards” guarantee an evening full of variety and emotion. In addition to pop star Alvaro Soler and pop singer Ben Zucker, the Swiss musical talents Andryy and Joya Marleen are the setting for the award ceremony. Fabienne Gyr and Rainer Maria Salzgeber will host the televised gala – Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 8.05 pm live on SRF 1, RTS 2 and RSI LA 2.

At the “Sports Awards” everything revolves around the most important Swiss sports personalities of the year. Traditionally, the televised gala honors the best in the six ‘Sports Awards’ categories ‘Athlete’, ‘Athlete’, ‘MVP’, ‘Paralympic Athlete’, ‘Team’ and ‘Coach’. In addition, the greatest young talent from Switzerland receives the award as “SRF 3 Best Talent Sport”. Four headline acts provide musical entertainment.

Swiss talent paired up – with Andryy and Joya Marleen

Andryy from Winterthur – “SRF 3 Best Talent” since November 2022 – plays his single “Gold”, the soundtrack for this year’s men’s floorball world championships in Zurich and Winterthur. Also, Joya Marleen performs an acoustic version of her single “Next To You”. The singer-songwriter from St. Gallen was voted the youngest female “SRF 3 Best Talent” in June 2021 at the age of 18 and she won in three categories at this year’s “Swiss Music Awards”.

Alvaro Soler and Ben Zucker as international artists

With Alvaro Soler and Ben Zucker, two international artists will also accompany the television gala. Soler has been a fixture in the European music world since his debut album in 2015 and has achieved singles such as “Sofia” or “La Cintura”. At the “Sports Awards” this year’s summer hit “Solo Para Ti” plays. Together with Soler, Ben Zucker is the second international musical act at the “Sports Awards”. With his latest album “Now more than ever!” it reached number five in the Swiss album charts in 2021. The pop singer opens the show with his song “What a great time”.

The television gala on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Zurich will be broadcast live from 20:05 on SRF 1, RTS 2 and RSI LA 2. Fabienne Gyr is now leading the show together with longtime presenter Rainer Maria Salzgeber. Isabelle Musy and Steve Roth comment for the French-speaking Swiss audience. For the Ticino audience Debora Carpani and Ivan Zippilli comment on the live broadcast.
