  • But one person won a million francs.
  • The next drawing will take place next Saturday. A possible record profit awaits. But the chance of scoring the main goal is 1 in 31 million.

To win the jackpot you would have had to tick the numbers 3, 9, 23, 27, 33 and 38. The lucky number was 1, the rePLAY was 1 and the joker was 5,3,2,6,3 and 8, as the lottery company Swisslos announced.

One winner still won one million francs that evening. She guessed six numbers correctly. The largest Swisslos jackpot ever won was a good seven years ago: in December 2016, 70 million francs were up for grabs. However, three participants had to share the jackpot. They each received 23.4 million francs.

Last record win in 2014

If a single person were to guess the six correct numbers and the lucky number on Saturday, it would be a record win in the over 50-year history of Swiss Lotto. The largest win by an individual to date was achieved in 2014: On August 23rd, a lucky person pocketed a sum of 48,598,075 francs and 75 centimes. According to Swisslos, 173 players have become millionaires since the game was introduced in 1970.

The higher the jackpot, the more people succumb to the temptation to fill out a lottery ticket themselves and hope for their luck. But the probability of hitting the jackpot with 6 correct numbers and the correct lucky number between 1 and 6 is 1 in 31 million.
