Swiss Infosec Appoints New Head for Legal & Data Privacy Consulting Competence Center

According to his new employer, Widmer has already gained a lot of experience in various functions in the telecommunications industry. Most recently, he was a member of the management team at SwissSign, where he was responsible for the Legal, Compliance, Finance and HR departments. Before that, he worked for UPC Switzerland, among others, as can be seen from his Linkedin profile emerges.

“Michael Widmer has all the prerequisites to further develop the Competence Center for Data Protection and Law in a high-quality and successful manner,” says Reto Zbinden, CEO of Swiss Infosec.

Widmer will lead a team of more than 10 lawyers in the competence center founded in 2017. In addition to his managerial duties, he will advise companies, public institutions and NGOs on data protection and ICT law and act as an external data protection consultant for companies and organizations.

Michael Widmer succeeds Eugen Roesle, who took over the management of the center in 2021. Roesle leaves the company and becomes self-employed, as Swiss Infosec reports on request. We part on good terms and will continue to work together in the future.
