To turn it into an art object, he saw off a parking meter in Zurich and was caught. But that is not the reason why Patrick Weder emigrated to New York in 1994. Rather, after his apprenticeship, the trained photolithographer was faced with the problem that his profession no longer existed. So he devoted himself to his passion, painting, gathered all his courage and tried his luck abroad. In New York he received a scholarship from the well-known Art Students League. He earns his living as a bartender. He moves into a factory building in Williamsburg, which was not at all hip at the time, For lack of money, he carpenters tables and shelves himself and discovers a new talent: designing furniture! Today the 41-year-old sells his exclusive tables, lamps and art objects worldwide to film producers, designers and entrepreneurs. Magazines such as “Interior Design” or “Elle Decor” report on his latest creations. He still lives in his Williamsburg loft – now with his wife Tamika, a jewelry designer and artist.
