A total of 40 projects from various subject areas and regions in Switzerland were submitted for the innovation competition. The winner of the emmental insurance main prize, worth 20,000 francs, is the project “Increase well-being with Lavandin” by Fenaison Bleue, Aurélie & Simon Chèvre from Mettembert (JU).

The 800 invited guests from agriculture, business and politics experienced an interesting and atmospheric agroPrize ceremony. The jury had nominated four projects in advance and awarded them 5,000 francs each. The project teams fought for the favor of the jury and the audience at the awards ceremony with original, humorous and informative presentations. This year’s winners, who received the coveted prizes, prove that there is great potential for future-oriented and new ideas.

The project was awarded the agroPrize 2023 by the expert jury and won 20,000 francs:

“Increase well-being with Lavandin” by Fenaison Bleue, Aurélie & Simon Chèvre from Mettembert

Aurélie Chèvre relies on the cultivation of lavandin and processes it. She also runs the farm herb shop “Fenaison Bleue” in Mettembert in the canton of Jura. There she sells the essential oil and the products she makes herself from lavandin. “Fenaison Bleue” stands for the revival of traditional plant knowledge and meets the increasing demand for regional essential oils.

The reader’s prize worth 3,000 francs, which was awarded by the readers of “Schweizer Bauer” and “Terre & Nature”, also went to the project “Increase well-being with Lavandin” by Fenaison Bleue, Aurélie & Simon Chèvre from Mettembert

The project “Güggelglück” – For Conscious Consumption” by Barbara & Markus Schütz from Strengelbach was the one that collected the most votes at the award ceremony and therefore won the room prize worth 2,000 francs.

Bendicht Hauswirth, SLV jury member, presented the special prize of the Swiss Agricultural Machinery Association (SLV) worth 5,000 francs to the project:

“MegadRyll 2.0 self-propelled seed drill” from Ryser Lohnunternehmung, Richenthal

The MegadRyll 2.0 is an exemplary combination of mechanics, hydraulics and modern agricultural technology “Made in Switzerland”. The low center of gravity, combined with very good and precise maneuverability using GPS control, characterizes this innovation. The soil-friendly work on slopes without significant drifts guarantees an even emergence through reconsolidation and prevents humus runoff.
