It is the first company to receive prefectural approval for the bottling and marketing of Paris water. The company Lausanne BE WTR – which is said to be “be water” – filters the capital’s groundwater. She puts it in glass bottles in her 300 m² warehouse in the 18th. borough. One of the company’s goals is to respect the environment by promoting the short cycle by being closer to its customers to avoid water.

The company is already present in other countries, but also in France, in Nice. She invested a million euros in her site in Paris. In appearance, there is no doubt, it is indeed water so what is the difference between a Paris tap? “Paris tap water is already of very high qualityacknowledges Jonathan McNicol, general manager of BE WTR France. On our small scale, because there are a lot fewer liters, we can have filters that can have a longer contact time and we can remove PFAS, the few pesticide residues if any . “

More filtered water with multiple goals, explains Mike Hecker, founder of BE WTR : “Seduce Parisians, always provide local water with a very delicate and silky taste, respecting the environment by offering water in a completely round glass bottle, bottled on site in the center of Paris.”

The company has set up a storage system with a bottle that can be reused 200 times. But for Mélisande Seyzériat, general coordinator of the Zéro Waste Paris association, another option is much simpler. : “I don’t know what we mean by ‘sparkling water’. I think it’s something for people who have a lot of money. We talk about Paris water so we use it as ‘tap’.”

The Swiss company still hopes to produce 6 million bottles a year. According to the general manager, the price would be roughly similar to the price of mineral water at around one euro even if it depends on the forms but he did not give a precise price.
