– Swiss animal protection suspends SP national councilor Martina Munz

The Central Board of Swiss Animal Welfare (STS) has suspended SP National Councilor Martina Munz and another board member. The two had repeatedly violated the principle of loyalty and collegiality.
The STS confirmed a corresponding report by the “Sonntagsblick” to the Keystone-SDA news agency. Munz, on the other hand, considers the allegations to be unfounded, as she explained to Keystone-SDA on Sunday when asked.
The central board of the STS accuses her and Michel Roux of uncooperative behavior in an e-mail to the sections. The suspension should last until the delegates’ meeting in November, when the central board advises her to be voted out. The basis for cooperation is no longer given.
Despite several discussions, Munz does not support a modernization course that has become necessary. “They harmed animal protection and ultimately animal welfare in Switzerland. At the beginning of November, the STS delegates’ meeting will take place, at which a vote will be taken on whether Munz and Roux should be voted out of office.

The scandal on the board is the preliminary low point in a power struggle, wrote the “Sonntagsblick”. According to STS, a comprehensive modernization process is currently taking place at STS and a number of important measures have been taken in recent months.
