Swirling meltwater destroys important bridge in Pakistan after heat wave

A bridge in Hassanabad, northern Pakistan, has been destroyed by a churning body of water. The high water in the Hunza River destroyed much of the bridge.

Local authorities had taken precautions. So no one was injured.

The Karakoram Highway, an important connecting road to China, has been interrupted by the collapse of the bridge. That is a major setback for traders. Hundreds of tourists are also trapped.
