This summer, the Gironde department is offering free swimming lessons to children aged 7 to 13 to learn to familiarize themselves with water and overcome their apprehension.
Knowing how to swim is essential, especially when you live in Gironde, with its 126 km of coastline and its many lakes. This is why the Department of Gironde invites people who cannot swim to take part in an introduction to swimming, in 14 natural areas and swimming pools in the Gironde.
Autonomy and aquatic ease
Objective swimming is organized in 14 sectors of the Gironde: Arès, Bègles, Carcans, Castillon-la-Bataille, Coutras, Domaine d’Hostens, Domaine de Blasimon, Fontet, Hourtin, Lanton, Le Teich, Port-Sainte- Foy-et-Ponchapt, Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc and Villandraut.
Intended for children aged 7 to 13, the program can also be used by 14-17 year olds and adults under certain conditions, for groups of up to six people. A program organized over 10 one-hour sessions, from Monday to Friday, for two consecutive weeks. Objectif nage is supervised by a professional sports educator between July 6 and August 26.
