It was filed on Tuesday 20 August by the lawyers of the Vice President of the Chamber Fabio Rampelli, the appeal against the ruling of the Federal Court of the Italian Swimming Federation (Fin) which rejected his candidacy for the Presidency in competition with the outgoing one Paul Barelliwho has been driving it continuously for 24 years.
The Federal Court of Appeal hearing is scheduled for August 26, just 12 days after the Ordinary National Elective Assembly, which currently has Barelli himself as the only candidate.

Precisely because of the limited time available, also in consideration of the probable appeal to the Coni Guarantee Board in the event of an unfavourable outcome, Rampelli has requested, with a request to the President and the Board of Directors of FIN, a postponement of the Assembly, so that there is technical time for the proceedings to be carried out before the sports justice bodies and, in the event of his request for admission being accepted, for the electoral campaign to be carried out.
At the moment nothing is known regarding the position taken by Barelli and the federal council with respect to the request for deferral presented by Rampelli.
