The Malagasy delegation, made up of eight swimmers, took part in the 15th African Junior Swimming Championships in Côte d’Or, Mauritius. Tendry Tiavina Rakotobe, competing in the junior category, improved her own time in the 50m freestyle, with a time of 25.45, compared to her previous record of 26.07. The results of the Malagasy team in the preliminary tournament were mixed, but the individual performances are worth highlighting. Nomena Sandra Joslin, the only expatriate on the Malagasy team, finished 18th with a time of 1:04.42 in the Women LC Meter Freestyle event. Other Malagasy athletes’ rankings include the 400 LC Meter Medley: 10th Madagascar (4:38.81). Men 400 LC Meter Freestyle: 11th Andriampenomanana Baritiana Mathieu (4:25.73). Women LC Meter Breaststroke: 9th Razakatiana Finaritra 36.43. Men 100 LC Meter Backstroke: 11th Rakotobe Tendry Tiavina (1:04.76).
