Shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, the message was received that a swimmer had disappeared in the Rhine in the area of the Petriwiese in Schlatt TG. The maritime police of the Thurgau cantonal police immediately initiated a search operation in which the Schaffhausen police and the Diessenhofen fire brigade as well as a Rega crew also took part.

Shortly before 8 p.m. the swimmer was found underwater and recovered. Despite immediate resuscitation by the rescue service and the Rega crew, she died on site. According to the findings so far, there is no indication of an external influence. (noo)
