Mülheim an der Ruhr (ots)
On Saturday evening, the Mülheim an der Ruhr professional fire brigade was alerted to a room fire in the Eppinghofen district. Immediately, a fire engine from fire and rescue station 1 and a fire engine from fire and rescue station 2 moved out. When the emergency services arrived, all the residents of the building had already fled the building on their own. Smoke was already coming out of the open windows on the second floor. A squad of the professional fire brigade, wearing respiratory protection, immediately went to the object to fight the fire, and a short time later another squad supported the work. The fire was under control within minutes. A smoke curtain and high-performance fan were used to prevent further spread of smoke and the smoke was later extracted from the property. The five occupants of the apartment were treated by the emergency services. Transport to a hospital was not necessary.
After the final extinguishing work and checks, the site was handed over to the police after about 50 minutes. (ME)
