“Šwiatek Claims Victory over Sabalenka in Gritty Stuttgart Final”

At the moment, there is probably the strongest rivalry between them on the circuit. On the one hand, the current queen of the world, who goes everywhere, supports Ukrainian tennis players and talks about how she does not like to see Russians and Belarusians on the circuit when their governments are waging a bloody war on foreign soil.

And on the other, Sabalenková, the current number two in the women’s circuit, who repeats at every other press conference that she does not understand why she is the target of hate speech from some players, when she has never personally done anything to any Ukrainian.

Now, exactly one year later, these two met again in the finals of the well-trodden clay event in Stuttgart, and Polka was rejoicing again. This time she won 6:3 and 6:4.

One of the exchanges in the second set proved that Belarus was very unmotivated to beat the Polish star, when Šwiateková bravely went to the net against the opponent’s smash, but she did not panic at all and sent the ball in her direction with all her strength. The balloon missed the later winner by only centimeters.

The handshake at the end of the match was also cold, when Sabalenková did not say a word to her opponent. And no wonder. For her, it was the third lost final in this hall and therefore the third missed opportunity to get a new car from the main sponsor.

The shiny blue Porsche went to the Polish tennis player’s garage again. Sabalenková couldn’t do that anymore, and she struck a funny chord during her closing speech.

“I have a proposal for the sponsor and the organizer, if I make it to the finals here again next year, I will get one extra car, would that be possible?” Sabalenková amused the organizers and the fans.

As she walked around the car and headed into the bowels of the stadium, she even apparently waved the trophy for the losing player as if she wanted to break the winner’s new car.

Šwiateková went through everything with a smile and even praised Sabalenková.

“Congratulations Aryna, you have an amazing season. You started with a Grand Slam win and all the work you put into it continues to pay off. I’m glad that we are performing so evenly, because of this we play so many matches and the fans enjoy it.” Polka added.
