The hype surrounding Star Wars seems to have just as little end as the universe itself: While Disney sends its never-ending fleet of series across the screens, the gaming sector should also continue to be supplied with games like Star Wars: Outlaws and Star Wars: Eclipse.
However, there are two problems with this: Firstly, it all takes quite a long time. And secondly, the fans see something outside of action-adventures. What does a good role-playing game look like, for example? Is Starfield really the only alternative in the SciFi RPG genre at the moment when the unclear situation surrounding the Kotor remake is causing great concern?
Not necessarily, say Star Wars Galaxies players. The MMO, which was believed to be dead, was kept alive by its fans through its own servers after it was shut down. Most recently, we were impressed by Star Wars Galaxies: Restoration, which aims to deliver one of the most authentic Jedi training ever.
But it’s not the only project of its kind: SWG Legends again is the oldest and most played fan project. The secret of its success lies not only in its many possibilities and improvements. It also has to do with the fact that it seems to give the Star Wars passion a home like no other game:

A project with perseverance and great patience
“We don’t actually have any special super feature that we would have over the original game,” explains Neliev, project administrator at SWG Legends.
»No, our greatest strength is probably our stability. We are the first NGE project and the longest existing. This is far from a given, as most other projects died after two years. We’re still here seven years later. Probably because we manage to cover all player groups with our content. And thanks to our loyal fans, of course.«
